The warm spring sun shines on my back as I stand on the back steps with the laundry basket, the only sounds are the turtle doves and the distant drone of a light aircraft, probably on its way somewhere from
Rand Airport. And its simply the peace that gets
me, the peace and quiet actually.
It always happens like this. Coming from
the hustle, bustle and noise of Lagos back home is a culture shock. It's a time to unwind, to be grateful and to recharge.
But we have to go back to when this all began, sometime in March 2008. I was in Ramsgate at the time, hubby and kids were in Jozi, when hubby phoned to say he had received an offer of a possible job in Lagos. I remember yelling over the phone - Lagos!!! You got to be kidding me!!! No way!! Well as it turned out hubby had already had the first interview and was on his way to the second one. And little did we know at the time how much this would change our lives.........
